We Didn't Even Suspect He Was the Poppy Salesman (2001) -- If you're going to go solo, like I've always said, it's good to sound different from the original band, and Martin does sound different than the Rheostatics when by himself. This album is mostly well-played acoustic guitar, interesting (kinda spooky, quiet) songs. "Wet Brain/Your War" is one of the highlights. A
Operation Infinite Joy (2003) -- Not quite the quiet masterpiece of his first album, but this one is good listening as well. A little too "backgroundy" sometimes. Highlights include "Beauty On" and "Sergeant Kraulis." B
