Hong Kong a long long.
Hero (2002) -- There's no questioning that this movie is pretty and that the fighting is cool, but that only goes so far. By this point, we've seen so many people flying in the air and spinning in circles and skipping across water and trees and all that artfulness that we're sort of, you know, bored with it. And others (like Ang Lee) seem to have done it much better. The best thing about this movie is actually the narrative choice to present the movie as dramatized stories told by the hero and the king, most of which didn't actually happen--a sort of less ambiguous Usual Suspects. Anyway, if I had seen this movie sometime before 1999 or so, I might have liked it better--but maybe not. C
