Rockaby (2000) -- Samuel Beckett tries to put us to sleep (apparently) by saying the same thing over and over.

Notes on a Scandal (2006) -- Really good, with perfect performances from Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett. Judi Dench is sort of Humbert Humbertish (with a different sort of "prey," of course) and Cate Blanchett helps the viewer understand the psychology behind all those good-looking teachers who are making the news by sleeping with their underage students. Made me giggle throughout, especially in the most serious of parts.
