Director of a lot of big movies from the 20s to 60s.
No Time for Sergeants (1958) -- First a Broadway play, then a 1955 TV episode of The United States Steel Hour where it was performed live, then eventually this movie (and later a TV series). Andy Griffith stars in this really hilarious movie that shows him even more goofy and corn-bally than he eventually was on The Andy Griffith Show. This is one of the earliest "old" comedy movies I ever liked, and I tend to watch it when it comes on TV. This is pretty much my dad's favorite movie.
