The Wind in the Willows (1983) -- Possibly the best movie ever made for children, and when I say that, that's not to limit it at all, since it's also one of the best movies made in general. It's got a really slow, leisurely, detailed pace that manages to never be boring. Some might say that kids wouldn't like it because of it's lack of whang-boom, but I disagree. I don't think kids are really used to anything like we think they are. In my experience, the more quality (and quiet) children's entertainment is what is most captivating to them. And this is something that will last through adulthood. I don't even think of it as a kids' movie anymore actually. It's just great great great. (But you'll have to track it down, since it's kind of hard to find.) A
