Director of Un Chien Andalou, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, and others.
Un Chien Andalou (1928) -- Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dali, apparently
inspired by the writing of Sigmund Freud, team up to make a seventeen-minute
movie that looks like what we now imagine dreams to look like (if not what they
actually do look like). This is how everyone does dreams now, which
takes the effect off since this is something we're used to now, though I still
feel that the movie holds up and is interesting enough (and short enough) for
multiple viewings.
