Japanese director of the original Ringu movie who eventually did the American sequel.
The Ring Two (2005) -- You can't really watch these movies hoping they'll make sense. A ghost haunted a videotape and now she wants to possess a specific boy for no reason? Computer-animated deer attack them in their car? Most of the movie is an excuse for special effects, the videotape doesn't play into the movie much at all (losing that one "hook," even if it was a dumb one), and what's up with the kid's haircut? If nothing else, thanks to that old trick of precocious children calling their mothers by their first names, you'll know for sure that Naomi Watt's name is "Rachel." (See Gore Verbinsky for the predecessor, The Ring.) C
