Jesus of Montreal (1989) -- Clever trick where someone wants to do a new-style Jesus movie (in terms of historical and theological views) without actually having to make a full-blown Jesus movie. The way that the life of the main character mirrors the Jesus he is playing is far-fetched and works for that very reason. A movie that doesn't care how it is categorized, since sometimes it's funny, sometimes serious, and often has some religious point to make. B
