A cool documentary maker.
American Movie (1999) -- My friends had already seen this movie when they rented it so I could watch it, and after a few minutes of it running, I said to them, "This is one of the best fake documentaries I've seen." And then I found out it wasn't fake. It's actually funnier than Christopher Guest's fake documentaries, thanks not to Chris Smith (who does a good job in capturing everyone) but to the two primary "characters." In spite of everything else, Mark and Mike are likeable and the whole package makes for a really great movie. A
Home Movie (2001) -- A pretty fun movie about people with crazy houses. Its shortness (a little over an hour) keeps it from being boring or redundant. B
